T.V. Guidance

When I was born into this world, I knew no Saviour.
I was drawn to situations that entice.
I quickly grew... to be a rogue... in my behaviour.
I sinned without remorse... not thinking twice.

I had no mission greater, than my own cause.
I never put... someone before myself at all.
I broke most all my promises, and own laws.
I was certain I could stand... and never fall.

I lived a sinful life with no regretting.
I grabbed at life and held on really tight.
I took care of my own needs, without a fretting.
I eagerly did wrong... and not the right.

The life that I had chosen, then turned sour.
I felt a vacant spot deep in my heart.
The time I'd lived for me... now had no power.
If my life would change... I had to make a start.

The television set that had been playing,
Had gone unnoticed... for the most part... in my room.
I heard a voice that sounded like some praying.
I cleared my thoughts... and looked on through the gloom.

The voice continued speaking of someone who was lost.
The voice said, LORD... please touch him in his need.
The voice went on to say LORD JESUS paid the cost...
That the sinner who was fallen... now was freed.

A strange sensation seemed to overtake me.
Knees bent now, kneeling... I began to weep.
This new feeling that I had, began to shake me.
There was a promise I should make... and I should keep.

The words were saying, that my heart should not be hardened.
To ask LORD JESUS to accept "me" as HIS own.
I heard myself then asking to be pardoned...
For my sins, and careless life that I had known.

The instant that I finished with my sentence...
A peace came over me, not known before.
I knew what I was feeling was repentance.
I was like a drowning swimmer, reaching shore.

What happened in that room... I've learned to share.
I've told of our LORD JESUS now for years.
That HE has never failed to prove HE'S loved me.
HE'S wiped away all of my bitter tears.

I'm grateful to LORD JESUS that my sin debt has been paid...
That HE forgave my sinfulness, and received me when I prayed.
I'll ever be HIS servant, speaking constant loving praise.
I look forward to our meeting... when I've fulfilled all of my days.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10:9-13
