Lightly Salted

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Matthew 5:14-15

Lightly Salted

The “Lightly Salted” term implies
limitation of a season.
Placed on labels found on food
put there for a reason.

The term denotes a common phrase
that sometimes is misleading.
Our Salt and Light we’re told by GOD
is what this world is needing.

GOD told us in the bible
we are the salt of this our earth.
If your salt should lose its flavor
it will prove of little worth.

Trials and troubles while we’re here
GOD HIMSELF predicted.
Most all the trials I’ve savored here
were mostly self-inflicted.

To be a witness to the world
we don’t have to speak a word.
What they “see” is what they “get”
despite what they have heard.

If you proclaim yourself a Christian,
the world is watching you.
They will pay most strict attention
to what you “say” and “do”.

We’ve been told to “let our light shine”
and place it on a pole.
If we do this with each our candles,
the world will know our role.

We should show the world at large
We’re children of the “light”.
Those who would deny this fact
will inherit dark of night.

It’s not difficult to light your candle…
it’s sometimes hard to keep it “lit”.
When you grope around in darkness
satan tempts us all to quit.

When you choose to seek GOD’S light
and add your candle too…
You can be assured my friend,
GOD will be there for you.

GOD will welcome all of us
at the time that HE’S assigned us.
That’s when we should all be sure
we’ve left our sins behind us.

Always let your light shine forth
and show that you’re the “salted”.
By doing this … we will proclaim …
our GOD’S to be exalted.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
