I’ll Walk Slowly

I’LL WALK SLOWLY

Should I depart and you stay here .. I’ll walk very slow ..
That golden path to Heaven .. that you and I will know ..
and as I walk I’ll bring to mind .. fond memories of you ..
of happiness and joyous times .. that you and I went through ..

My memories are like a book, that I can read at will ..
Of things we’ve done together .. and things that you’ll do still ..
Enjoy this life that GOD has given .. all your time remaining ..
Even through your struggles, and when you feel strength draining ..

Drink in GOD’S pure sunshine .. when it warms upon your face ..
Enjoy HIS rain, and smell HIS flowers .. that HE has put in place ..
Marvel at HIS colors .. when HIS fall leaves have changed ..
View the vivid shades and hues .. that HE alone arranged ..

Even though you must remain .. while I go on ahead ..
Continue to enjoy this life .. without a thought of dread ..
GOD has blessed us with a home .. that we here.. all call Earth
We’ve received HIS blessings .. from the first day.. of our birth ..

Those who’ve gone before us .. may be gathered as we near ..
Relatives and Family .. that we’ve known and loved down here..
Someday in the future .. When your time here is through ..
Remember to walk slowly .. those you love will follow you ..

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?John 11:25-26
